Fisheries - Our Common Wealth

This international programme is aimed at ensuring sustainability and improving the livelihoods of coastal communities in developing countries.

Delivered by a consortium of Commonwealth organisations, it raises awareness and conducts research to help identify long-term solutions for fisheries management. This is achieved through regional case studies, study tours, ministerial statements and civil society consultations.

Research and Publications

Programme research is available online, in the newsletter and a series of publications.  Final findings will be presented at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in
November 2009.
