GRANTS SCHEME
The Commonwealth Foundation runs a civil society responsive grants scheme to enable people from developing Commonwealth countries to participate in activities involving international or intercultural exchange.
To support the strategic aims of the Fisheries Programme, the Commonwealth Foundation has allocated £57,500 in grants. These are aimed at improving the resilience of fisheries communities and will be available throughout the programme. Specific objectives for these grants are to:
- Develop advocacy skills and strategies so fishers can be better represented in policy making at a national and regional level
- Support training initiatives for fisheries NGOs working for sustainable livelihoods
The maximum award for one civil society organization (CSO) is £10,000. To be eligible, you must be a CSO in a developing Commonwealth member country.
Further grant guidelines, application forms and details on how to apply are available on the Commonwealth Foundation website at www.commonwealthfoundation.com/about/grantseekers.
